The Northern Wastes
The Northern Wastes, or more commonly simply the Wastes, are a collection of arid coniferous forests, dry plains, and a number of deserts (most notably the ../GreatNorthernDesert) that make up the majority of northern known ../PlaneOfExis. Although commonly regarded to be its own region due to its special properties, the ../CityOfTheDead is technically part of the Wastes and by far its most populated area.
History
Even compared to the limited knowledge of the other regions, the known history of the Northern Wastes is scarce.
../Meshandamil, the noted explorer, first visited the region around the year 150, establishing ../MeshandamilsPath. A number of villages and towns were established along the road, and by year 170 it had been extended to reach the newly discovered City of the Dead.
The region contains Exis' largest ../StrangeOne communities, some claiming to have resided there decades prior to Meshandamil's exploration of the Wastes.
In year 437, a group of adventurers discovered a mass grave of unknown humanoids inside ../ArrowsCave.
Civilization
Discounting the City of the Dead, the major civilized areas lay to the south, nearer the ../WorendEmpire, although a number of tribes such as the ../SolammandRa reside even in the most remote parts of the Great Northern Desert.
